The Galleries of Remembrance are located in a newly created undercroft at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. Telling the story of Victorian’s service and sacrifice in conflicts since pre-Federation, the exhibition design is notably simple and draws on the powerful architecture of the Shrine’s former foundations to provide an atmosphere of dramatic serenity. A keystone of the galleries is the display of the Devanha boat from the Gallipoli landing, one of only two remaining.
